Méo-Camuzet Fixin 2022

This dry red wine from the AOC Fixin in Burgundy is crafted from Pinot Noir by the renowned Méo-Camuzet winery. It offers a fresh and silky profile, with aromas of black cherry, violets, and a subtle mineral touch, complemented by a balanced structure.

Key facts

  • Grape variety: Pinot Noir
  • D.O. / Region: AOC Fixin, Burgundy
  • Winery: Méo-Camuzet
  • Soil / Altitude: Clay-limestone, foot of the slope
  • Ageing / Cellaring potential: Oak aged (low percentage of new oak)

The vineyard

The grapes are sourced from plots located at the foot of the slope in northern Fixey, featuring vines aged between 25 and 50 years. The vineyards are cultivated using environmentally friendly practices, focusing on maintaining the natural balance of the vines.

Ideal combination

Winemaking

Following a late harvest and a slow fermentation with minimal intervention, the wine is aged with limited use of new oak to preserve the pure, vibrant character of the fruit.

Why buy it

This Burgundy red stands out for its refinement and its ability to develop beautifully in the cellar. It is an excellent choice for those seeking the authentic typicity of the Côte de Nuits. To enhance your collection, you can buy Méo-Camuzet Fixin 2022 online directly from our shop.

Beautiful, dark, mat, brick colour. Viscous. Forest berries on nose: wild strawberries and raspberries. Also cherry. Bouquet of forest floor and mushroom. Very attractive. Smooth, almost silky, attack followed by ripe tannins. Good overall acidity (a little more would not have hurt). Medium bodied. Opens up to a rich mid palate. Strong finish with pepper. Very long. Has developed beautifully since last tasted in November 2025.

Purchased grapes from the bottom of Le Clos and Les Herbues. Destemmed. 3-5 days cold soak, pumpovers to start finishes with punch downs. (Pumping over at the beginning introduces oxygen and aids the yeast. Punch downs toward the end helps to extract structural tannins). 2-3 weeks in concrete tanks. 50% new oak for the villages from Francois Freres. Tasting. Soft and easygoing. Slightly herbal touch somehow. Nothing too interesting

Vivino suggests drinking window starting from 2025, and definitely not from January. Better wait a bit more, but really good one. Easy drinking, velvety on palate, good sample of Burgundy Pinot Noir.

Drank in honor of Suphapong-Meo was his favorite Burg producer! A velvety smooth wonderful wine. One of the better Fixins I’ve had; not a go-to appellation for me, but this Meo is incredible value!! Part may be the 2005 vintage, which was great in the area (and most places-haha). Still in really good shape. Seems about prime time to drink. Wonderful w a bone in rib-eye.

Med almost deep ruby, nose smoked plum, dried plum, crunchy plum, dried herb, pepper, earth, almost earth dominate, quite shy on nose, tannin m+, thin layer of tannin but covers entire oral cavity, acid m+, plum skin finish long, feels serious coz of tannin and little fruit; but after 3 days it more floral, soft red fruits, takes a while to show itself!!

4.1 Beautiful floral nose with roses and raspberry, hints of earth, mushroom and spices. Very delicate tannins, floral and strawberry on the palate. If finish was longer this would be an amazing wine, but it is great as is.
