Luis A. Rodriguez Vázquez Eidos Ermos Blanco 2024

A dry white wine from D.O. Ribeiro crafted by Luis Anxo Rodriguez Vázquez from native Galician grape varieties. It offers a fresh aroma of citrus and floral notes, balanced by vibrant acidity and a light, harmonious palate.

Key facts

  • Grape variety: Treixadura, Albariño, Lado, Torrontés
  • D.O. / Region: D.O. Ribeiro
  • Winery: Luis Anxo Rodriguez Vázquez
  • Soil / Altitude: Sandy and granitic soils

The vineyard

The grapes are sourced from young vines located around Arnoia. In these small plots, manual and environmentally respectful viticulture is practiced to ensure low yields. The sandy and granitic soils contribute significantly to the fresh character of the wine.

Ideal combination

Winemaking

Following a manual harvest, the must ferments in stainless steel tanks. This method is chosen to preserve the pure fruit expression and the natural character of the traditional grape varieties.

Why buy it

Full mouth of flavor! Very fruit forward and slight acidity in the end. (Acholao Madrid)

Greets with shy aromas of pear, citrus and a brush of herbs, promising more than it gives. The acidity is there, steady but never electric, carrying the wine along without much tension. Mouthfeel sits in the middle, neither lean nor textured, just coasting. Flavours of orchard fruit and a hint of bitter pith touch down. Was expecting a lot more from this.

Citrus fruit: grapefruit, lime, mineral, flowers. Dry, light body, crisp acidity. Elegant!

Apples and pears, herbs, minerality and a slight bitter kiss. Medium- intensity on the nose. Dry, with medium body and medium acidity. Medium+ finish.

Delicious. Felt a little smoky on the palate despite (I believe) the fact no barrel/oak was used for maturation. Medium bodied, flint and ripe stone fruit.

Refreshing with a hint of gooseberry. Not much of a nose.

Rather uninspiring white. Little nose and rather flat taste. Not offensive but nothing to write home about.

A solid ribeiro, you can't go wrong with it.

Slightly thick, and very still. The aroma is mild, with notes of lemon, salt, honey and stone. The flavour is incredibly curious. High acidity, but a light, rounded body and an oxidated, dry flavour, comparable to fino sherry. Notes of oil, salt and a very weak squeeze of lemon, and, as the wine opens up, very subtle honey sweetness. Medium finish. A little more intensity and fruity flavours would be appreciated, but there is a good complexity and originality present.

Lovely. Apple, lemon and honeycomb on the nose. Not the most balanced but very nice

Pale straw color, weak to medium body 12.5 ABV. Palate more to minerals thant to fruits (citrus and hint of peach). Ok, but nothing to remember.

Another white blend from Galicia consisting of Albariño, Treixadura, Torrontes and Lado. Acidity is well kept in normal values. The wine is fresh but at the same time really smooth and tasty leaving the salt at the end, again in normal values. Palate is green 🍏, some citrus 🍊 and logically the white stone fruits. Nice one, 90RP. 3.4-3.5⭐️

Fresh citrus and green apple. Fresh acidity and minerality. Think Spanish Chablis. Excellent with Oysters.

Crisp apple, lemon, stone, white flowers, honeycomb. Much more savory than fruity, with strong honey notes on the palate. Backed by nice acidity, the wine has a medium finish. Great value for the money.
