Dry, deep ruby red blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Petit Verdot from Bolgheri. Complex, developing. In the nose and on the palate pronounced aromas and flavours of blackcurrant, blackberry, black cherry, red plum, bell pepper, herbs, vanilla, cedar, toast, clove, leather, forest floor. Medium+ acidity, high alcohol, full body, high fine grained tannins, long finish. Outstanding wine, suitable for bottle ageing.

Full-bodied and packed with ripe fruit flavors. Deliciously balanced with a smooth texture and excellent structure. A fantastic match with a steak.

I'm more white lover than red, but it was one of best red that I have experienced. It's oak & blackberry-driven flavors. Quite mild for me, so easy to drink!

Dark ruby, blackcurrant, cherry, leather, cream and oak, lively acidity, a bit of residual sugar, lots of firm tannins, would love to see how this ages in a couple of more years. Bold body, great with steak.

This was a beauty. Needs a 2 hour decant in my opinion as it was only really opening up towards the end and boy was it getting good. Nice oak and leather. Dark fruit flavours which surprised me as it has strawberry on the nose. A nice vein of chocolate in there too. Had this in a lovely little vintner in the ski resort of Les gets. Watching the blizzard outside in the warm with a bottle of this and some friends made me very happy. Have a couple of bottles of 2020 in my cellar and I’m so look g forward to them now.

From the legendary Ornellaia winery in the Bolgheri region. Distinct flavours of plum, oak, leather and red fruit. A notch above his little brother Le Volte!

A beautifully polished Bolgheri red, blending ripe black cherry, cassis, and plum with hints of cedar, tobacco, and Mediterranean herbs. The palate is structured yet refined, with silky tannins, vibrant acidity, and a long, savoury finish. Elegant and full of energy.

Amazing! This wine definitely benefits from decanting. Predominant oak flavors followed by blackberry, cherry, and plum. Most importantly, however, this wine in its vintage is definitely something I will add to my cellar and try again after some years of aging. Let’s hope it’s worth the while!

LSN ‘21 is Ornellaia’s powerful yet refined “second wine” — rich dark fruit framed by spice and chocolate, with Tuscan umami/iron savoriness and elegant tannins. Very approachable in ‘25 and clearly structured enough to age another 8–10 yrs. Think of it as an extra opulent baby Ornellaia with earlier drinkability.

Intense nose of fresh crushed fruit and hints of vanilla, ruby red in color. Dense and concentrated with a solid structure, aromas of black fruits, plums, chocolate. Medium+ acidity, excellent integrated alcohol (after 3 hours of decanting), a long aftertaste with notes of dark chocolate.

What a great “super second” wine especially at the $65 price. Loads of layered rich black fruit, smoke, leather, vanilla and a hint of earthiness, cocoa and red licorice. Tannins and acids predominant but balanced, moderately long finish. Wishing I had more than the one bottle!

This was a treat. The second label of Ornellaia. Such complexity in all its elements, nicely balanced. Great elegant palate with long finish. A symphony for the senses. Still young, lot of fruit, but also tertiary elements. Can age and improve for many years.
