Dom Ruinart Blanc de Blancs Extra Brut 2010
This extra brut champagne from the AOC Champagne is a single-varietal Chardonnay crafted by the historic Maison Ruinart. It features a complex aromatic profile with mineral notes, toasted nuts, and a long, fresh finish.
Key facts
- Grape variety: 100% Chardonnay
- D.O. / Region: AOC Champagne
- Winery: Ruinart
- Soil / Altitude: Chalky soils of Grand Cru vineyards
- Ageing / Cellaring potential: Minimum 9 years on lees, cellaring potential of over 10 years
The vineyard
The grapes are sourced exclusively from Grand Cru vineyards. Ninety percent of the selection comes from the Côte des Blancs, renowned for its chalky soils that impart mineral freshness, while the remaining ten percent comes from Sillery in the Montagne de Reims.
Winemaking
Following manual harvest, the must undergoes alcoholic and malolactic fermentation in stainless steel tanks. The wine then ages on its lees for a minimum of nine years, completing a twelve-year process before release with a low dosage of four grams per liter.
