Preludio de Sei Solo 2019 Magnum

This dry red wine from D.O. Ribera del Duero is crafted by the Sei Solo winery. It features aromas of stewed fruits, subtle balsamic notes, and hints of toasted wood, balanced by an unctuous texture and polished tannins on the palate.

Key facts

  • Grape variety: Tempranillo
  • D.O. / Region: D.O. Ribera del Duero
  • Winery: Sei Solo
  • Soil / Altitude: Vineyards in La Horra, Gumiel de Izán, and Moradillo
  • Ageing / Cellaring potential: 17-20 months in oak barrels

The vineyard

The grapes are sourced from selected vineyards in the villages of La Horra, Gumiel de Izán, and Moradillo. The plots feature old goblet-trained vines aged between 60 and 100 years, ensuring low yields and concentrated fruit.

Ideal combination

Winemaking

Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks, with each plot vinified individually. After malolactic fermentation in barrels and tanks, the wine ages for 17 to 20 months in oak barrels of various capacities.

Why buy it

If you are looking for a structured wine with great cellaring potential for your collection, this Magnum format is an ideal choice, promoting a slower and more harmonious evolution. You can buy Preludio de Sei Solo 2019 Magnum online directly from our shop.

Deep ruby-red with a bright garnet rim. The bouquet is remarkably focused and elegant, releasing fresh redberries, sour cherries, and wild plums, subtly layered with cedarwood, dark cocoa, and dried lavender. On the palate, it is medium-to-full-bodied, showing a silky, unctuous mid-palate balanced by a vibrant, altitude-driven acidity. The tannins are fine-grained but youthfully tight, leading into a long, clean finish with a savory touch of tobacco. Structured for positive development through further bottle aging.

Bold, powerful for being the entry wine of winery. Raspberry, blueberry, touch of plums. Hints of oak, full bodied.

The grapes for this wine come vineyards in the villages of La Horra, Gumiel de Izan and Moradillo from 12 to 80 year-old vines. Displaying a good vibrant deep cherry red color with fragrant, clear notes of cherry drop and violet there is a beautifully unadorned yet brooding quality to this; it feels deep, vinous and vibrant, flecked with bright red fruit notes, sweet earth and a darker, more spiced character on the finish.

Classic and dark fruity Ribera del Duero. 100% Tempranillo. Aged for 20 months in 600, 500 and 228 littre barrels of french oak. Bottled in july 2021. Aromas of black cherries, riped dark plums, blueberries, sweet blackberries, chokolate, sweet tobacco, leather, vannilla and oak. Full bodied, medium plus acidity, medium (+) tannins, 14,5% alcohol and a medium plus long aftertaste. I guess everyone would like this wine! The price on vivino is for a Magnum

Did not meet my expectations considering the price of the product🤔 I'd rather try another option if I were to choose a wine at a similar price range

Better this time because I was in a place where I could decant it. Still it tasted of cocoa, rich cherries.

Solo project of one of Aalto’s founders, Javier Zaccagnini. 100% Tempranillo, aged 17 months in used French oak barrels of different sizes, bottles July 2020. Deep ruby. Blackberry, bramble, plum, blueberry, balsamic, pepper, cedar, vanilla, cocoa, cigar box, leather, underbrush, earthy. Dry, medium+ acidity, medium polished tannins, pronounced intensity, full body, long finish. 4h in carafe. Outstanding wine, a wine with concentration and finesse. Can drink now from carafe, can age for a decade more. €21 @Vivino

A good Ribera del duero. Wellmade with notes of black fruits like plum and blackberries mixed with oak. Quite dry with medium and round tannins. A good meatwine and works also singlehanded.
