The vineyard

The grapes are sourced from 30-year-old vines grown on elevated terraces along the slopes of the Sierra Cantabria. The clay-limestone soils and a transitional climate with Atlantic and Mediterranean influences ensure a balanced ripening process.

Following a manual harvest, the wine undergoes ageing for 10 months in oak barrels, followed by an additional 18 months of refinement in the bottle before release.

Happy tempranillo Tuesday. This youthful Rioja poured a clear deep ruby with a thick band of legs. The nose, clean medium plus aromas of smoke, leather, plum, dark fruit banilla and oak. The nose, developing. The mouth, dry medium plus tannins, high acid and medium plus body and finish. There are medium plus flavours of dark fruit plum, oak and a bit of smoke.
