Alcohol level 14% - the red fruit comes across with a slightly ripe, high-alcohol fruit character. As it opens up, it becomes increasingly fruity and floral. Acidity is a bit too high for liking, and minerality not very pronounced for a Chambolle.

A classic Burgundy Pinot Noir with an inviting nose of red cherry, raspberry, vanilla, and violet, supported by earthy undertones, clay dust, and mineral nuances. The aromatics are beautifully expressive and true to style. However, the palate leaned a bit too grassy for my taste, lacking the finesse suggested by the nose.

Fresh and juicy strawberries, cranberries and red cherries, accompanied by the aroma of rose petal and violet with morning dew, as well as the aroma of fresh leaves and forest floor. The acidity is prominent at the beginning, and then it is slowly softened, and it blends perfectly with the fruity flavour. After being slightly decanted, it gets sweeter and fuller, with a little aroma of walnut tree. The tannin is as soft as velvet, and the aftertaste is quite long. Surprisingly charming.

Just like its name Cuvée de la Violette, this Chambolle Musigny from Laurent Ponsot is full of bouquet noses. Violet, lavender, iris, whatever red flowers you can name. Raspberry, strawberry, juicy and sweet. After some time exposed in the air, some dry leaf, red tea and forest floor notes. A little bit salty feeling to finish. Velvet smooth. Way beyond my expectation for a village wine. Bravo!
