The vineyard

The grapes are sourced from selected vineyards in the Côte de Nuits. The location of these plots in Burgundy provides the wine with its characteristic freshness and well-defined fruit profile.

Winemaking

Following manual harvesting and partial destemming, the must ferments with indigenous yeasts. The wine is aged for 14 to 20 months in oak barrels and is bottled unfined and unfiltered to preserve its purity.

Good - Deep garnet color Nose: black cherry, spice (sandalwood), fruity, simple Palate is relatively rich (for a simple red Burgundy) but balanced by a good acidity. Appealing aromas of red and black berries, a bit of earth spice (cinnamon). Length and complexity are limited. A well crafted Bourgogne rouge, does the job as a daily drinker.

Wow! Punches above its price point! Loads of fruit and requires a decant at this point. Loads of plum, marion berry, sous boise, stewed rhubarb and strawberry pie filling. Very JP Guyon like in its robust and fruit fwd profile. Palate is dry, M+ acid, M/M+ abv/body. Flavors similar to nose. So much plum and and black fruit and earth. Lovely wine and easily confusable for 1er! 92+ easy and will age well
