The vineyard

The grapes originate from selected plots situated at altitudes between 700 and 900 meters above sea level. The vines, averaging 33 years of age, grow on diverse soils influenced by the course of the Duero River.

Following a manual harvest, the wine undergoes one of the longest aging processes in the world, spending at least ten years in large wooden vats, French and American oak barrels, and bottle.

Deep garnet Pronounced sweet spice, leather, nutmeg, ripe black fruits, cedar, sweet like coconut, which I didn’t get initially. Pronounced blackberry, baked plums, quite ripe, sweet milk chocolate. Colour: deep garnet. Nose: pronounced and developing. Palate: dry, high acidity, medium tannin, medium alcohol, medium+ body, pronounced intensity, long finish. Notes of black cherry, red cherry, blackberry, blackcurrant, clove, nutmeg, milk chocolate, cinnamon, cedar, and forest floor. Quality is outstanding. The fruit tastes extremely fresh and a little sweet from ripeness. The tannins are silky and perfectly integrated. There is a real sense of elegance despite high concentration and intensity on the palate.

Tasting potential, disjointed for now. I have wanted to taste Unico forever, grateful it happened but especially so when a good friend brings it Of course it’s too young after tasting. Potential Power and depth is insane. Endless. The intensity of the wine is amazing, nose is pronounced pure power. Coconut, cocoa powder. However The fruit is hidden at the moment and it’s a little crazy on profile without anywhere the required sophistication yet. needs 15 years but the potential is very evident.
