Descendientes de J. Palacios Las Lamas 2024 is a prestigious red wine produced by Descendientes de J. Palacios, the renowned winery of Álvaro Palacios and Ricardo Pérez Palacios, under the D.O. Bierzo designation. Sourced from one of the most distinctive vineyards in Corullón, it stands out for its exceptional finesse, purity and elegance, making it one of the finest expressions of Mencía.

The grapes come from the Las Lamas vineyard, covering approximately 1.6 hectares, originally consisting of seven small plots that were consolidated into a single vineyard in 2017. The wine is made from 94% Mencía, 3% Alicante Bouschet and 3% Jerez (Palomino), a blend that reflects the richness and distinctive character of this terroir.

The 2024 vintage stands out for its exceptional balance between concentration and delicacy. During its development at the winery, the wine has gained body and depth without losing its refined character. It reveals subtle herbal nuances, more commonly associated with the Moncerbal vineyard, which add an intriguing layer of aromatic complexity.

Fermentation takes place with partially destemmed grapes in oak vats, followed by a 40-day maceration period that allows for precise and balanced extraction. Production was extremely limited, with only 3,313 bottles, along with a small number of larger formats. The wine was bottled in March 2026.

An excellent accompaniment to red meats, roast lamb, game birds, mushrooms and aged cheeses. Best served between 15 and 17°C. Its balance and structure give it excellent ageing potential.
