@Basea-Valencia. Maiden vintage from a winery founded by Eduardo Eguren who after having worked in family's Sierra Cantabria and later w/ Artadi started his own project creating Cuentaviñas. Los Yelsones is a 1ha vyd and one of the 3 inherited from his grandfather. Vines planted in La Rad area in Peciña at 700m asl in 1970. Aged for 18m in new 500lt oak barrels. #349/2077 produced. 13,5% abv M garnet. Blackberries, blueberries, wild strawberries, botanical aromatics, some dark chocolate and spices bouquet⏩

En premieur tasting Vila Viniteca. Hard to rate some wines since most of them are far from ready, but still brief impressions. With a mineral flair that’s really interesting. The oak needs a lot of time to integrate with the ripe fruit. The most promising of the Cuentaviñas tasted.

This deep purple-hued effort has a pure, pretty, elegant bouquet that includes lots of red and blue fruit (it's more red-fruited) as well as flowers, spicy wood, liquid violet, and charcoal. Medium to full-bodied on the palate, it has good purity, a lively, elegant mouthfeel, bright acidity, and a clean finish.
