Perrier-Jouët Belle Epoque Brut 2015

This champagne brut from the prestigious AOC Champagne is a blend of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Pinot Meunier crafted by Maison Perrier-Jouët. It reveals aromas of vineyard peach and candied pear, leading to a creamy texture on the palate with a subtle hint of fresh rhubarb.

Key facts

  • Grape variety: Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier
  • D.O. / Region: AOC Champagne
  • Winery: Perrier-Jouët
  • Ageing / Cellaring potential: Minimum 6 years on the lees

The vineyard

The grapes are sourced from renowned Champagne crus, including Cramant, Avize, Chouilly, and Mailly. These selected plots provide the structure and refinement characteristic of the region's chalky soils.

Ideal combination

Winemaking

The sparkling wine undergoes secondary fermentation in the bottle and ages for at least six years in the winery's historic cellars. It is finished with a dosage of 8 g/L to maintain its natural freshness.

Why buy it

This cellaring champagne is an excellent choice for special occasions or for your personal collection. Its iconic bottle adorned with Art Nouveau flowers makes it a highly distinguished gift. Lean and graceful, even in a hot vintage but maybe the heat kills the aromatics a bit, its lovely to drink, just has few layers Brifht straw, brioche, lemon, lime, slight nuttiness, white flowers Med body, hifh acid, lean, med+ intensity graceful finish

Very good and high quality. What stands out is its smoothness and light finish of brioche pear cream apricot. Not at all overpowering

Tried this at the Perrier-Jouët house in Épernay, which made an already special bottle even better. Beautifully fresh and elegant, with citrus, white flowers, stone fruit and a touch of brioche. Fine bubbles, lovely minerality and a long clean finish. One of those Champagnes you remember as much for the experience as the wine

The bottle is the diva, obviously, but thankfully the wine has the substance to back up the entrance. And what an entrance she makes. Floral, silky and beautifully elegant, with white peach, ripe pear and grapefruit alongside creamy brioche and toasted almond. The bubbles are fine, the texture is luxurious, and there’s a lovely freshness running through it all that keeps everything lifted and dangerously drinkable.

Well. Its bot every day you get to drink a lovely vintage champagne like this. Although today is just a random Thursday. Life is short. Enjoy it. Apples, some zest, a little buttery brioche. Impeccable balance. Fine mousse. Long finish. Utter joy.

Parisian sunshine, if a little bit hot this time of year, is the perfect partner for a bottle of P-J. Gotta love those flowers on the art deco label. The dosage I’m not sure but it’s a full fat champagne with plenty of bread to appease the pâtissières amongst you.

A celebration Champagne to mark my 2 year journey in Oman! A well aged Champagne where the bubbles have become more refined. More yeast and toast -iness and brioche notes. The apple flavours and much more subdued and it’s a lot more floral and approachable than I expected.

- pale yellow in color - beautifully fine fizz, followed by lemon cream, green apple, pear, almonds, brioche. Bright acidity still stands strong. - doesnt quite show characteristics of matured champagnes, but very easy to drink. 🦔❤️❤️

The Belle Époque 2015 reflects Perrier-Jouët's signature of finesse and floral elegance. Aromas of white peach, bruised apple, grapefruit zest, hawthorn, toasted hazelnut and subtle saline notes unfold with purity and precision. The palate is smooth and poised, combining ripe orchard fruit with chalk, a delicate saline touch and vibrant acidity. Long and graceful, with a subtle grapefruit peel bitterness on the finish and a refined texture, though difficult to justify at its current price.

Beautiful flowery nose of apple blossom vanilla, lemon and roasted nuts. Polished fruit with a creamy texture and fine mousse. Ripe green pears, peach and grapefruit dominate an ultra pure and elegant fruit where the roasted streak carries the wine into a long, creamy finish. A delicious wine where first rate Chardonnay from Cramant plays first fiddle giving a creamy ripe lemon meringue puff. It feels very ‘champagny’ in its perfect equilibrium and chalky foundation. A lovely, classical prestige Champagne. 18-18,5p

A lovely Champagne, though I opened it far too soon. It displays a beautiful profile of citrus, pear, orange zest, grapefruit, cream, and butter, combined with highly perfumed notes of lily and fresh grass. While it is mouthfully opulent, rich from beginning to end, and driven by a strong minerality, I found it difficult to fully appreciate its value as a prestige cuvée at this current stage

This is as close you can get to perfection. Small and elegant bubbles. Acidity that is present but smooth. Great balance and minerals and citrus

Lightly sweet marshmallow on the nose for me, tropical fruit like pineapple. Tart and bright lemon meringue, marzipan and almond on the palate.
