Recaredo Turo D'En Mota 2003

This dry sparkling wine from Corpinnat, crafted by the Recaredo winery, originates from a single Xarel·lo vineyard planted in 1940. It features delicate bakery aromas, balsamic notes, and a subtle mineral undertone with a highly elegant profile.

Key facts

  • Grape variety: Xarel·lo
  • D.O. / Region: Corpinnat
  • Winery: Recaredo
  • Soil / Altitude: Calcareous soil, northern slope
  • Ageing / Cellaring potential: At least 12.5 years on lees

The vineyard

The grapes are sourced from a single plot on the northern slope of the Turó d'en Mota hill in Sant Sadurní d'Anoia. The vineyard is cultivated traditionally on highly calcareous soils under a Mediterranean climate.

Ideal combination

Winemaking

Following harvest, this sparkling wine undergoes an exceptionally long aging process of at least twelve and a half years on its lees, which shapes its complexity and refinement.

Why buy it

If you are looking for a collector's bottle with exceptional cellaring potential, this terroir-driven sparkling wine is an ideal choice for your cellar. Its extended aging provides a depth that will elevate your most special occasions. You can buy Recaredo Turo D'En Mota 2003 online directly from our shop to experience one of the purest expressions of Penedès.

94/100 Outstanding +1 🔝Terroir Deep golden amber, fine, persistent perlage. Mature notes of honey brioche, toasted almonds, candied fruit, white peach, citrus zest, waxy nuances, fennel, Mediterranean herbs, and a mineral limestone core. Full-bodied, silky palate, sparkling high acidity (Xarel lo signature), integrated depth, and brut nature dryness. A long, dry, herbaceous, mineral finish—an exemplary single-vineyard, old-vine Xarel lo. 12.5%, 10°C, 2024–2038, peak 25–32, Drink WA94, JS95, WS93 🔻⏬🔻

Loved the Recardo winery and some of their wines are amazing. However wasn’t a fan of this , not awful just not particularly nice at this price.

Delicious aged Cava from one of the region’s top makers. Bright yellow fruit, honey wax and pear mingle with woody notes. Honestly, this is a terrific sparkling wine. Bright yellow flinty appearance. Softly effervescent. Wish we’d brought back a few more bottles. A true Spanish gem 💎

Special cuvée sourced from a single vineyard and made entirely from Xarel-lo grapes. Aged for at least 120 months before the first disgorgement , as indicated by on every bottle. The nose is complex with abundant toasty notes, hints of infused herbal tea, dried mandarin peel, baked apples, quince, roasted macadamia nuts, slate, vanilla pie crust and a back ground of earthy tones. Excellent and delicate on the palate with soft agility and a threaded acidity that winds through it perfectly as it opens!

Gloria a la Patria, que supo seguir, sobre el azul del mar, el caminar del sol. España reina en Europa! And what would seemingly be a more profound way of celebrating this than w Recaredo & arguably a hallmark Corpinnat (well, at harvest, still D.O. Cava)? Turó d´en Mota (v01, 100% Xarel-lo f 1940 vines), by far t most thrilling Spanish fizz I have imbibed. Straw-golden in t glass, t wine opens w rye-yeasty, ripish green-yellow apple notes, chewy, complex, elegant, vinous, mineral-driven, lemony, chalky-dry close!

Very interesting cava with notes that remembers important labels of champagne. With a clear almost golden color and aromas of brioche, yeast, toast, bread and tropical fruits. Medium plus acidity and 11.5% of alcohol. Delicate at palate with flavors of grapefruit, yeast, green apple and toast. Medium plus aftertaste.

Very complex. Lots of almond, apricot, peach, melon. Subtle and very well defined, in many directions. Was recommended by BBR account manager for this to be a cost saving replacement for P2 or RD. The acidity is slightly lacking in this respect. But apart from the acidity(not to say it’s not paramount important), this wine is totally comparable to those top wines.

Very good wine, I drunk it with base champagne and Spain was worth it. I like it, mineral, fresh with elegant brioche. Good complex sparkling wine. Citrus, apple, minerals, cream, pear. 👌🏻

Dinner at home. Dad brought it over from the cellar. At opening a shy nose which opened up after an hour to a very pleasant bouquet. A pleasant oxidized nose with autolytic characters and fresh, bright citrus fruits and stone fruits. Elegant persistent bubbles, high acidity and a very pleasant minerality and bitterness on the back palate. I love these aged cavas!
