Laurent-Perrier Brut Millésimé 2015

The vineyard

The grapes are sourced from selected vineyards in the region's most prestigious Crus. The Chardonnay is grown in the Côte des Blancs, in villages such as Chouilly and Cramant, while the Pinot Noir comes from the Montagne de Reims, including Tours-sur-Marne and Ambonnay.

This sparkling wine is made from an equal blend of 50% Chardonnay and 50% Pinot Noir from the 2015 harvest. Following fermentation, the wine undergoes ageing for seven years on its lees in the underground cellars of the maison before disgorgement.

I have tasted this on a number of occasions, but now in a different context, among some big shots and it could shine. This is an impressive 50/50 Chardonnay–Pinot Noir blend with citrus, white flowers, a touch of toast and a creamy yet structured palate. There’s density, spice and a slightly broader feel than in other LP Champagnes (presumably because of the vintage), but the house freshness still keeps it balanced.

Pale white gold color. S 4.5/5 A 4/5 B 4.5/5 F 4.5/5 yeast, brioche, fresh apple, cream on nose. All very pleasent. lemon(start) minerals grapefruit(end of palate) on palate. Very well balanced acidity and sweetness. plentiful fine bubble makes me happy. Ginger nutty straw stone fruit on finish. A little bit of good bitterness at the end. Very good finish.. The nuttiness is intensifying as it warms. Very satisfied champagne!!

Fantastic tasting of Laurent-Perrier Grand Siècle with Lucie Pereyre at the legendary Baur au Lac. To demonstrate what vintage Champagne is all about, we started with the 2015 before moving on to the house’s top cuvées. And honestly, if this was just the warm-up, expectations were officially sky-high. A classic 50/50 blend of Chard. & PN, aged 7years on the lees. The nose bursts with fresh lemon, toast, beeswax, and orange peel. Fine, persistent bubbles, creamy elegance, beautifully balance. Happily staying here…

Its white gold color with a fine, persistent sparkle opens on the nose with notes of white peach, beeswax , candied lemon, honeysuckle and hawthorn, followed by aromas of butter cookies, lemongrass and tangerine peel offering great aromatic complexity. From Thursday night's Pop, Bubble, Sparkle Champagne tasting event at the Bow Valley Club, hosted by Cork Fine Wines. No Tête de Cuvée wines, but all really good and some very interesting! Next table was house Laurent-Perrier. Next up was the Brut Millésimé 2015, my favourite of the 3. Laurent-Perrier was founded in 1812 by Alphonse Pierlot, and is still independent and family-run today. Known as innovative, the house introduced stainless steel tanks for fermentation, and were the first to introduce Zero Dosage.

I don’t often get to try vintage champagne. This I believe is 50% chardonnay and 50% pinot noir. A tastful mix of brioche, pear, green apple and a dash of lemon. Higher in flavor than most non vintage champagnes i’ve had but also a big jump in price too 93 points
