Description

Este vino blanco es una obra maestra absoluta. En nariz despliega un abanico sorprendente de aromas que incluyen piña asada, manzana deshidratada, flores delicadas y un toque de crema de limón, complementados con sutiles notas de almendra. De cuerpo pleno, destaca por su carácter compacto y profundamente cautivador, con una complejidad salina y cremosa que se entrelaza armoniosamente. Su persistencia en boca es impresionante, prolongando la experiencia durante minutos. Un verdadero triunfo enológico.

Este vino único ha hecho historia al convertirse en el primer blanco español en alcanzar la perfección con 100 Puntos Parker. Una obra maestra que trasciende el tiempo, llevando consigo la esencia de bodega y su incansable búsqueda de la excelencia. Elaborado con uvas de la legendaria Viura, procedentes del Pago Capellanía, plantado en 1945, este viñedo se encuentra en la parte más alta de Finca Ygay en Rioja Alta, a una altitud privilegiada de 485 metros. Este entorno especial aporta una singularidad que se refleja en cada copa.

La vendimia, llevada a cabo manualmente en los primeros días de octubre de 1986, fue un proceso lento y meticuloso, acompañado de condiciones climáticas ideales para lograr una maduración perfecta. La Viura, con su racimo grande y grano pequeño, alcanzó un potencial óptimo de 13,5⁰ de graduación alcohólica, manteniendo un alto contenido de acidez, clave para su frescura y longevidad.

Tras la recolección, los racimos fueron cuidadosamente estrujados y prensados en una prensa vertical de madera de doble husillo, un método tradicional que preserva la integridad de los aromas. La fermentación se llevó a cabo en un tino de roble americano, seguido de un excepcional periodo de envejecimiento: 252 meses en barricas de roble americano de 225 litros y 67 meses en depósitos de hormigón, dotando al vino de una complejidad y estructura inigualables.
