Este robusto vino tinto destaca por su textura densa y taninos vigorosos. Exhibe un perfil de sabor más severo, con toques de espresso, suelo arcilloso, alquitrán y grafito. Los firmes taninos y un centro saturado de grosella se abren a un final que mezcla tonos florales y especiados.

El vino tinto Macán Double-Magnum 2016, elaborado con la cepa tempranillo en la D.O. Ca. Rioja por Macán Bodegas Benjamin de Rothschild & Vega Sicilia, se presenta como un producto excepcional que destaca por su elegancia y sutileza. Este vino es fruto de la colaboración entre Tempos Vega Sicilia y la Compañía Vinícola Barón Edmond de Rothschild, dando origen a la bodega en 2004. La visión compartida de producir vinos excepcionales en la única región vitícola de Rioja tomó forma en 2009 con las primeras añadas de Macán y Macán Clásico, consolidándose en 2013 con el lanzamiento definitivo de la marca.

Las instalaciones de Bodegas Benjamin de Rothschild & Vega Sicilia están ubicadas en Samaniego, con 100 hectáreas de viñedo propio en las faldas de la Sierra Cantabria, al norte del río Ebro, en municipios como San Vicente de la Sonsierra, Labastida, Ábalos y Elvillar. Estas parcelas se dedican principalmente a la uva Tempranillo, utilizada exclusivamente en la elaboración de Macán y Macán Clásico. La singularidad de estos vinos se ve influenciada por el clima suave con matices atlánticos, mediterráneos y continentales, la altitud de 500 metros sobre el nivel del mar y la edad media del viñedo de 36 años.

La vendimia se realiza manualmente en cajas de 12 kg. En este año inaugural de la nueva bodega, la fermentación se llevó a cabo con una extracción muy meticulosa. Durante este proceso, se logró una integración más afinada de la madera en la etapa de crianza. Esta se realizó en barricas (50 % nuevas) de origen francés y en fudres de 4.000 litros, extendiéndose por un periodo de 16 meses.
