Este vino tinto es opulento y estructurado, aunque austero. Predominan los sabores de cereza negra, acompañados de matices de espresso, alquitrán y hierbas amargas, todo respaldado por una acidez balsámica que sostiene sus taninos sólidos. A pesar de su robustez, mantiene un núcleo frutal discernible.

El vino tinto Macán 2014, elaborado con la cepa tempranillo en la D.O. Ca. Rioja por Macán Bodegas Benjamin de Rothschild & Vega Sicilia, se presenta como un producto excepcional que destaca por su elegancia y sutileza. Este vino es fruto de la colaboración entre Tempos Vega Sicilia y la Compañía Vinícola Barón Edmond de Rothschild, dando origen a la bodega en 2004. La visión compartida de producir vinos excepcionales en la única región vitícola de Rioja tomó forma en 2009 con las primeras añadas de Macán y Macán Clásico, consolidándose en 2013 con el lanzamiento definitivo de la marca.

Las instalaciones de Bodegas Benjamin de Rothschild & Vega Sicilia están ubicadas en Samaniego, con 100 hectáreas de viñedo propio en las faldas de la Sierra Cantabria, al norte del río Ebro, en municipios como San Vicente de la Sonsierra, Labastida, Ábalos y Elvillar. Estas parcelas se dedican principalmente a la uva Tempranillo, utilizada exclusivamente en la elaboración de Macán y Macán Clásico. La singularidad de estos vinos se ve influenciada por el clima suave con matices atlánticos, mediterráneos y continentales, la altitud de 500 metros sobre el nivel del mar y la edad media del viñedo de 36 años.

La vendimia se realiza manualmente en cajas de 12 kg. Macán representa el vino estrella de la bodega, destacando por su delicadeza, sutileza y elegancia. Este vino se produce mediante una selección meticulosa de uvas provenientes de las parcelas más destacadas. La fermentación ocurre en tinos de madera de roble francés durante 10 a 15 días. Posteriormente, se cría en barricas nuevas de roble de grano extrafino por un período de 16 a 18 meses y envejece en botella al menos tres años antes de su lanzamiento al mercado.
