Valbuena 5º 2019, an exceptional vintage from Vega Sicilia, presents a masterful blend of Tempranillo (97%) and Merlot (3%). This wine masterpiece is the fruit of the renowned Vega Sicilia winery, part of the Tempos Vega Sicilia group, whose international reputation has grown continuously since its acquisition by David Álvarez Díez in 1982. Founded in 1864, the winery has raised quality standards in the world of wine.

The select plots that give life to Vega Sicilia Valbuena 5th year are located on gently sloping slopes, with soils rich in calcium material. The vineyard area covers 210 hectares at Finca Vega Sicilia, with an average age of 35 years and altitudes ranging between 700 and 900 meters above sea level. The harvest is carried out manually in 12 kg boxes.

The must begins its fermentation with native yeasts in stainless steel tanks, where it also completes malolactic fermentation. Part of the wine from the first year was aged in barrels to intensify the structure of the wines. This vintage reduced the influence of American oak and used more French oak, especially those with fresh toasts. In the second year of aging, the vats helped to enrich the complexity of the aromas and, above all, to improve the elegance of the final texture of the wine.
