This wine has a deep cherry red colour and an extremely high layer. Even without swirling the glass, its remarkable aromatic complexity and exceptional intensity can be perceived. Its structure is impeccable, and in the mouth it shows a broad journey that unfolds with elegance, filling the palate with a long and memorable persistence.
The Valduero I Cepa 2019 is an exceptional dry red wine, made exclusively with Tempranillo, the star variety of the prestigious DO Ribera del Duero. This wine is a tribute to the legacy and innovation of Bodegas Valduero, one of the pioneers of the region since its foundation in 1984. Led by Gregorio García Álvarez, together with Yolanda and Carolina García Viadero, this winery has built a solid path towards excellence, obtaining numerous international awards and placing several of its wines among the 10 best in Europe.
The Valduero I Cepa is an expression of the vineyard in its purest form. It comes from vines over 50 years old, cultivated in bush form and without irrigation or chemical fertilizers. With an extremely low yield of just 2.000 kg/ha, this vineyard produces the equivalent of a single bottle per vine, reflecting the exclusivity and dedication behind each bottle. The harvest is carried out manually, selecting each bunch with care, ensuring that only the highest quality grapes reach the winery.
After harvesting, the grapes ferment for 9 days at controlled temperatures between 23ºC and 28ºC, followed by a 10-day maceration that brings out the best in each fruit. The wine is aged in oak barrels from two different origins for 18 months, followed by an additional 1 year of rest in the bottle, which gives the wine a unique complexity and balance.
The result is an exclusive wine, full of character, that combines tradition with artisanal excellence. Its deep connection with the terroir makes it an oenological gem that not only represents the Ribera del Duero at its best, but is also ideal for those looking to buy wine that captures the best of nature and the art of wine.
