Full bodied, powerful, meaty wine with a distinct cassis note. Should improve as tannins will be softening over time. 93/100.

Description

This wine offers an aromatic profile with prominent notes of tree bark and ripe plums, accompanied by spicy oak nuances and a subtle reductive character upon opening. On the palate, it is medium to full-bodied, with juicy tannins and a silky texture that coats the palate, finishing with an elegant touch of bitterness. It is a generous, intense, and mature wine that gains in finesse and elegance with age.

Pintia 2011 is a prestigious red wine from the Toro DO, produced by the renowned Tempos Vega Sicilia group. Its vineyards are located on the banks of the Duero River, in the municipalities of San Román de Hornija and Pedrosa del Rey, where 110 hectares are spread out, characterized by an extreme climate, with cold winters and hot summers, and soils rich in pebbles that contribute character and complexity.

The grapes come from old vines, between 40 and 60 years old, many of them ungrafted and trained in the traditional bush vine system. The harvest was carried out early and quickly, between September 13th and 18th, to preserve the freshness in a particularly warm vintage. The wine was then aged for 12 months in French oak barrels.

The 2011 vintage was launched on the market in 2015, with a production of 190.000 bottles. An essential option for those who want to buy wine online and discover an elegant, powerful and refined Toro, the fruit of the experience and excellence of the Tempos Vega Sicilia group.
