Silky soft cuvée, low on acidity, considerable bitterness on palate, some sweetness in the finish and somewhat faceless like many CS based wines.

Description

A charming and harmonious wine, the 2020 vintage continues to reflect the essence of Pagodes de Cos and constitutes a perfect introduction to the distinctive style of Cos d'Estournel. Surprisingly smooth, the Pagodes de Cos 2020 combines freshness and finesse in a sublime balance. This elegant and extremely enjoyable wine stands out for its attractive notes of blackcurrant, blackberry, blueberry, violet, cassis liqueur and tea.

Pagodes de Cos 2020 is an exquisite dry red wine, composed of an elegant blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (58%), Merlot (34%), Cabernet Franc (4%) and Petit Verdot (4%). Produced by the renowned Cos d'Estournel winery, this wine comes from the prestigious AOC Saint-Estèphe region in Bordeaux, France. Classified as a second growth in the historic 1855 Classification, Cos d'Estournel is one of the most prominent and sought-after wineries in the Bordeaux wine world.

The estate is located south of Saint-Estèphe, just north of the legendary Lafite Rothschild de Pauillac. Its vineyard, which slopes gently towards the Jalle du Breuil stream, is set on quaternary gravel and clay soils with a limestone bedrock, providing a unique terroir. With 91 hectares in total, the vines have an average age of 40 years, guaranteeing a production of grapes of exceptional quality.

The winery, modernised in 2012, features advanced technology that allows for gravity processes, preserving the integrity of the grapes to the maximum. The winery's Grand Vin ages for 18 months in new oak barrels, while Pagodes de Cos matures for 12 months in new barrels, adding complexity and character to the wines.

Buy Pagodes de Cos 2020 wine in our online store. To fully enjoy its complex palette of aromas and flavours, we recommend serving it between 15°C and 16°C, allowing it to release all its finest and most delicate nuances as it warms in the glass.
