Oremus Eszencia 2014 is an exquisite natural sweet wine, made with the Furmint, Hárslevelü, Zéta and Sárgamuskotály varieties at the OREMUS winery (Tempos Vega Sicilia) in Tokaj, Hungary. This wine is a gem from the historic Tokaj wine region, famous since 1630 for the excellence of its vines, now recognized globally.
With vineyards with an average age of 17 years, spread over 98 hectares at an altitude of 200 meters above sea level, this wine stands out in the range of Aszú wines for its richness and uniqueness. It has a low alcohol content, between 2% and 3%, because not all of the sugar concentration ferments, often resulting in more than 500 grams of residual sugar per liter.
The collection of Aszú berries is carried out individually, and each grape picker can collect between 5 and 10 kg of grapes per day. The grapes are left to rest for 5 to 10 days under their own weight, facilitating the natural extraction of the juice. Subsequently, the must is stored in glass containers or 50-liter amphorae for a very slow fermentation. After a year, the wine is transferred to 68-liter "Átalag" barrels to continue its maturation. Finally, it ages in the bottle, a process that can last for decades.
This wine is ideal for immediate consumption, although it offers an aging potential of up to 50 years if stored under ideal conditions: 12-14ºC and 60% relative humidity. It is recommended to serve it at 8 ºC. A perfect option for those interested in buying wine online, looking for a unique and lasting experience.
