Probably the best wine I’ve tried from the winery. Fresh, with salty ocean notes and brilliant juicy fruit. Delicate and easy to drink.

Description

This wine has a dark color and offers aromas of berries and herbs, complemented by notes of graphite and intense spices. It is characterized by a creamy texture and a rustic, earthy nuance, accompanied by grainy tannins and robust, marked flavors. This profile makes it ideal for those looking to buy wine online with a unique and expressive personality.

Buy the exceptional Gran Meín Tinto 2019, a red wine from Viña Meín barrels, made with the brancellao and caíño varieties in the Ribeiro DO. This wine embodies the rich winemaking tradition inherited from historic Ribeiro. The Osebe and Ribeira vineyards, located in the north of Leiro and oriented towards the spring, make the most of solar exposure to achieve a unique ripening in the Galician interior, exhibiting a notable aging capacity.

At Viña Mein, since 2015 the Comando G philosophy has been adopted for winemaking, based on biodynamic, non-interventionist principles, use of native yeasts and, since 2018, the winery has been part of the prestigious Pago de Carraovejas group, together with Emilio Roja and the renowned Verdejo wines from Ossiano. Gran Meín Tinto 2020 is carefully made with brancellao and caíño longo grapes from the northernmost area of the Avia valley.

The harvest is carried out in 12kg boxes and taken to the winery, where each plot is vinified separately, allowing limited fermentations. After fermenting in stainless steel tanks, a portion of the wine was transferred to two 225-liter barrels, one 400-liter barrel and the other 500-liter barrel, while the rest continued its maturation in stainless steel for nine months. The year 2019 turned out to be exceptional for red grape varieties. The harvest was carried out in October, with optimal ripening of the grapes without incidents of overripeness. A total of 2.800 bottles and 600 magnums were produced, and the wine was bottled in July 2020.
