Marc Soyard Domaine de la Cras Bourgogne Montrecul 2022 is an exquisite dry red wine, made entirely with Pinot Noir grapes from the AOC Bourgogne Montrecul in France. This Domaine has a unique history, as in 2013, the municipality of Dijon acquired a 160-hectare farm called Domaine de la Cras, located on the edge of the city. The previous owner had started a winery and planted 8 hectares of vineyards on land recognized under the Burgundy appellation of origin.
In an effort to maintain sustainability and community engagement, the municipality held a public competition to find a winegrower to lead the project under certain criteria: the vineyards were to be managed organically, the winegrower was to be young, without any vineyards of his own, and the domain was to be used for educational purposes open to the public. Marc Soyard, selected in 2014, was invited to live on the estate, tend the vines, and produce and market his own wine.
Marc Soyard released his first vintage at Domaine de la Cras in 2014, bringing with him the natural winemaking philosophy learned at Domaine Bizot in Vosne Romanée. This approach includes organic farming with biodynamic practices and making wines using natural yeasts and minimal amounts of sulphur, while respecting the purity and authentic expression of the terroir.
If you are looking to purchase wine that not only has an exquisite taste but also a fascinating story of sustainability and viticultural education, Marc Soyard Domaine de la Cras Bourgogne Montrecul 2022 is the perfect choice that will not disappoint you.
