Description

Upon tasting, you can detect flavors of red fruits such as cherries and strawberries, combined with hints of fresh earth and mushrooms, complemented by a pleasant minerality and a well-integrated touch of wood that brings with it aromas of vanilla. This wine is juicy, vibrant, full of fruit and with a refreshing acidity.

Marc Soyard Domaine de la Cras Bourgogne Coteaux de Dijon Rouge 2022 is an exquisite dry red wine, composed entirely of Pinot Noir grapes in the AOC Bourgogne, France. In 2013, the municipality of Dijon acquired a 160-hectare farm known as Domaine de la Cras, located just on the perimeter of the town. The previous owner had established a winery and planted 8 hectares of vineyards on land classified as a Burgundy appellation.

A public competition was held to select a winegrower to take charge of the project, on the condition that the vineyards were managed organically, that the winegrower was young and without vineyards of his own, and that the space was open to the public for educational purposes. Marc Soyard was chosen in 2014, and was offered the opportunity to reside on the estate, tend the vines and make and market his wine, with the obligation to pay a "rent" of 2,000 bottles per year to the city of Dijon.

The vineyard for this wine has a clay-limestone soil and covers 4.5 hectares. The grapes are harvested manually from vines planted between 1983 and 2001. This wine matures for 10 to 12 months in previously used barrels and is bottled without fining or filtering, ensuring a pure and authentic expression of the terroir. This meticulous winemaking process makes this wine an excellent choice for those looking to purchase a unique and authentic Burgundy wine.
