This vibrant and intense white wine stands out for its balsamic and saline aromas, so distinctive from Mar de Frades. On the nose, it offers nuances of white flowers, tropical fruits and subtle notes of peanuts and toasted bread. In the mouth, it is strong, fine and elegant, culminating with a delicious citrus and saline finish.
Mar de Frades Finca Valiñas 2018 is a dry white wine, made by the renowned Mar de Frades winery, located in the prestigious Rías Baixas DO. This winery is a pioneer in the Val do Salnés, the birthplace of Albariño, and produces some of the most refined and elegant white wines in Spain, in the beautiful region of Galicia. Finca Valiñas comes from a single vineyard of 2,2 hectares, located at 127 meters above sea level, where old Albariño vines are cultivated, caressed by the microclimate of the Val do Salnés. Sandstone and granite soils offer excellent drainage. The vines, planted in 1975, are guided using the area's traditional trellis system.
The bunches selected at Finca Valiñas are cut by hand and transported in 16 kg boxes to the review table, where a final manual selection is carried out. 86% of the bunches go to Gamínedes tanks, where, without the addition of sulfites, the grapes macerate for 65 hours at 12ºC, protected by CO2, to extract the freshest, most elegant and most intense aromas. The clean must ferments in stainless steel tanks with native yeasts for 16 days at 17,5ºC. After fermentation, the wine rests on fine lees for the first year with minimal intervention.
During 2020 and 2021, the lees were worked by batonnage, carried out every fifteen days in the first year and once a month in the second year. After a period of rest in tank, the wine was bottled and rested in the winery at a controlled temperature during 2022.
Don't miss the opportunity to buy wine like Mar de Frades Finca Valiñas 2018 and enjoy its sophisticated freshness and elegance.
