Discover Macán Clásico 2018, an exceptional red wine made with the Tempranillo variety in the prestigious DO Ca. Rioja by Macán Bodegas Benjamin de Rothschild & Vega Sicilia. This winery, the result of collaboration between Tempos Vega Sicilia and the Barón Edmond de Rothschild Wine Company in 2004, shares the vision of creating unique wines in the inimitable Rioja wine region. After five years of studying terroirs and acquiring vineyards, the project came to life in 2009 with the first harvest of Macán and Macán Clásico. The brand was officially presented in 2013, marking the entry of the first bottles to the market.

Located in Samaniego, the facilities of Bodegas Benjamin de Rothschild & Vega Sicilia cover 100 hectares of vineyards on the slopes of the Sierra Cantabria, north of the Ebro River, in the municipalities of San Vicente de la Sonsierra, Labastida, Ábalos and Elvillar. These plots, small and on elevated terraces with clay-calcareous soils, are the home of the Tempranillo grape, which is the protagonist in the creation of Macán and Macán Clásico. The mild climate with Atlantic, Mediterranean and continental influences contributes to the uniqueness of this wine.

The winemaking process takes place in stainless steel tanks, with part of the malolactic fermentation in oak barrels. The aging in barrels ranges between 12 and 14 months, adapting to the characteristics of each harvest. Macán Clásico 2018 is distinguished by its roots in the territory, highlighting its freshness, fruitiness and delicacy.
