Fos Baranda 2020 is a distinguished dry red wine, made by the renowned Fos winery in the DOCa Rioja. This family project found its ideal location in the heart of Rioja Alavesa, dedicating more than a decade of effort together with small local winegrowers and oenology experts to create wines that capture the essence, complexity and diversity of this unique region.
This wine is made up of 90% Tempranillo, coming from vines with an average age of 50 years, located on three gently sloping slopes with sun exposure, on clay-calcareous soils between Elciego and Laguardia. The remaining 10% is Graciano, 40 years old, from the Las Llecas farm in Elciego.
The harvest is carried out manually in crates, keeping the grapes cold before entering them in stainless steel tanks and wooden vats. After malolactic fermentation, the wine is racked into French (80%) and American (20%) oak barrels of 225 and 500 liters, from the first and second year. This wine is not filtered to preserve all its qualities and is aged for 14 months.
