This is something truly unique and funky. When I say funky, I mean it smells strongly of smoke and sulfuric gas - smells like a volcano. Interesting

Description

This red wine is vibrant and full of life, distinguished by its youthful freshness and impeccable balance, without being excessive. On the nose, it displays a captivating aromatic range, highlighted by spicy hints of pepper, the liveliness of sour cherries, and the delicate scent of rose petals. The palate presents a fluid and elegant texture, medium-bodied, with very fine, almost imperceptible tannins, sustained by a vibrant energy that resolves into a subtly saline and very flavorful finish.

Envínate Táganan Tinto 2022 is a dry red wine that captures the volcanic and Atlantic essence of Tenerife, crafted from a mosaic of native Canarian varieties, including Listán Negro, Listán Gaucho, and Malvasía Negra, as well as others yet unidentified. Produced by the renowned Envínate winery, a minimal-intervention project based in La Roda (Castilla-La Mancha), this label is the result of work in old vineyards located between 75 and 300 meters above sea level, just a few meters from the ocean.

Grown using traditional practices, without the use of chemicals, and with manual intervention both in the field and in the winery, this wine ferments with wild yeasts and approximately 30% whole bunches in open concrete and plastic tanks. It is then aged for eight months in used 225- and 500-liter oak barrels, respecting the expression of the terroir to the fullest.

Only 4.000 bottles of this edition were produced, and it was bottled in July 2023. If you're looking to buy wine online with a wild, authentic identity and great personality, Táganan Tinto 2022 is a Canarian gem that shouldn't be missing from your collection.
