Description

With a captivating aromatic complexity, this Barolo displays a range of notes that evolve on the nose, from the freshness of rosehip and mint to the depth of tobacco, then giving way to spicy aromas of coffee, licorice and truffle, and finally reveal leather and mineral nuances. In the mouth, it is broad and round, with an imposing structure and admirable balance, highlighting flavors of plum jam and dried blackberries. The finish, with subtle touches of chocolate, is harmonious and persistent, leaving a charming aromatic trail. With the passage of time, this refined wine acquires a classic elegance and balance that distinguishes it.

Elvio Cogno Barolo Ravera 2019 is an exceptional choice of red wine, created by the renowned Elvio Cogno winery in the prestigious Barolo DOC, located in Piemonte, Italy. The winery, recognized for its excellent Langhe wines, cultivates around 15 hectares of its own vineyards in Novello, one of the privileged municipalities for the cultivation of Barolo DOCG in the province of Cuneo. These vineyards, located on historic, culturally rich and beautiful hills, have recently been recognized as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.

With a cultivated area of 4,88 hectares and a planting density of 4000 vines per hectare, this wine is made with the Nebbiolo variety, using Lampia and Michet subvarieties. Grown at an altitude of 380 meters above sea level, the grapes are harvested in October and undergo careful vinification in stainless steel tanks with temperature control and automatic circulation. After fermentation, the wine macerates for 30 days with the pomace cap submerged, before aging for 24 months in large 25-30 hl Slavonian oak barrels, followed by a 90-day rest period on the lees and a aged in bottle for 6 months.

This wine pairs perfectly with dishes such as stewed meats, game stews, generous roasts and mature but not too spicy cheeses, such as pecorino and parmesan. Discover the exquisiteness of this wine and buy quality wine that will elevate your gastronomic moments to new heights.
