This vintage expresses the richness and diversity of Fuissé's terroirs, combining the breadth of the clay soils, the finesse of the granitic terrain, and the pronounced salinity of the limestone. On the palate, fresh citrus notes and hints of aromatic herbs stand out, leading to a flavorful, crisp, and mouth-watering finish.
Pouilly-Fuissé 2023, an exceptional white wine created by the renowned Domaine JA Ferret in the AOC Pouilly-Fuissé region, in Bourgogne, France. Located in the charming village of Fuissé, in the heart of the Maconnais, this family-owned winery has been at the forefront of winemaking excellence since 1840, highlighting magnificent wines made from Chardonnay grapes from southern Burgundy.
With a unique blend of strains dating back to different eras, from 1947 to 2020, each bottle of this wine tells a story of more than 70 years of winemaking tradition. Plots, such as Les Vernays, dating back to 1955, add their distinctive character to this unique selection. In Fuissé, the vines are rooted in west-facing granitic soils, fusing a variety of components, from schists to rhyolitic tuffs, while to the east Jurassic limestones and marls predominate, with scattered touches of clay.
The wine is vinified in vats for grapes from granitic soils, while the remaining plots are vinified in barrels. The wine undergoes a total aging of 18 months: the first 10 months in barrels or vats, followed by 8 months in stainless steel tanks. Bottling took place in February 2025.
Enjoy Pouilly-Fuissé 2023 in harmony with a variety of dishes, from fresh seafood to seafood risottos, grilled or fried fish, juicy veal cutlets with creamy sauces, to goat cheeses and cow's milk hard cheeses.
