This wine boasts an attractive, warm ruby ​​hue, moderately intense yet bright, with a vivid and clean red color, free of any bluish or purple undertones despite its youth. On the nose, it unfolds aromas of fragrant wild strawberries, accompanied by delicate notes of candied orange peel and a subtle hint of spice, perhaps cinnamon. Cos Frappato 2024 is a dry red wine made from 100% Frappato di Vittoria grapes, under the IGT Terre Siciliane designation, in southeastern Italy. Produced by the renowned winery Azienda Agricola COS, this wine embodies the purity and elegance of the Sicilian terroir, where tradition and respect for the land come together in every harvest.

The story of COS dates back to 1980, when Giambattista and Giuseppe Cilia began their project in the town of Bastonaca (Vittoria, Ragusa). There they inherited an old family winery next to a small 3,6-hectare vineyard cultivated in the traditional bush vine system. From its inception, the winery has followed the principles of organic and biodynamic farming, allowing each vine to express its natural balance and reveal the authentic personality of the Sicilian landscape.

The grapes used to make this wine grow at 230 meters above sea level, on medium-textured red soils composed of Pliocene-era sub-Apennine sands of calcareous-siliceous origin. The vineyards, with an average age of 15 years, are cultivated using the Guyot system, with a density of 5.000 vines per hectare. The manual harvest, carried out between the end of September and the beginning of October, ensures a rigorous selection of the best bunches.

Spontaneous fermentation takes place in contact with the grape skins and native yeasts, respecting the wine's natural rhythms. Aging occurs in concrete tanks and subsequently in the bottle, resulting in an expressive, fresh, and characterful wine.
