Description

This wine is a brilliant yellow with greenish highlights. On the nose, it displays an attractive aromatic complexity with exotic notes of mango, papaya, lime, and red grapefruit, accompanied by herbal nuances reminiscent of lemongrass, lemon balm, mint, and green tea. Delicate mineral hints of flint and subtle hints of currant also emerge. On the palate, it offers a well-balanced combination of juicy fruit and fine minerality, creating a broad, harmonious, and elegant sensation, with an intense and long-lasting finish.

Cantina Terlano Sauvignon Quarz 2023 is a dry white wine made with Sauvignon Blanc grapes under the Alto Adige Terlano DOC in northern Italy. This prestigious wine originates from the renowned Cantina Terlano, considered one of Italy's most prominent wine cooperatives and a historical landmark of South Tyrol.

Founded in 1893, the winery is located in the picturesque village of Terlano, situated between the cities of Merano and Bolzano in the broad Adige Valley. Thanks to its unique combination of Alpine tradition and winemaking precision, Cantina Terlano is renowned for the quality and longevity of its white wines.

The grapes destined for Quarz come from vineyards facing south and southwest, located between 300 and 550 meters above sea level, with steep slopes and low yields of approximately 40 hl/ha, factors that favor a high concentration of aroma and minerality.

The grapes are harvested and selected by hand. The whole bunches are then gently pressed, and the must is clarified through natural sedimentation. Fermentation takes place slowly at a controlled temperature, followed by nine months of aging on fine lees in large wooden barrels and stainless steel tanks. The final blend is completed three months before bottling.

An excellent option for those looking to buy wine online and discover a sophisticated, mineral Italian Sauvignon Blanc with great aromatic complexity.
