Description

This deep red and cherry colored wine, clean and bright, offers a nose that combines red and black fruits, such as raspberries and black currants, with notes of vanilla and a subtle hint of nutmeg on a mineral and white pepper background. In addition, memories of lavender and a balsamic touch are perceived, along with an earthy character typical of the Bosque de Matasnos. In the mouth, it is fine, tasty and rich, with a combination of red and black and toasted fruits, with aromas of coconut and vanilla that last in a long aftertaste. Bosque de Matasnos 2020 is an exceptional red wine that mainly combines the Tempranillo, Merlot and Malbec varieties, produced by the Bosque de Matasnos winery in the Ribera del Duero DO. Located in Peñaranda de Duero, Burgos, 18 kilometers from Aranda del Duero, on the Ribera del Duero plateau, at 950 meters above sea level, the Matasnos forest and vineyard provide a unique environment for the production of this wine of exceptional quality. This Winery was born from the initiative of Jaime Postigo to make the Ribera Alta del Duero known with a wine of exceptional quality that respected the unique environment in which it was born.

The winery's vineyards cover 50 hectares of espalier and 8 hectares of old vines planted in glass. The oldest vineyard used for this wine was planted in 1920. The soil is loam, clay and sandy. The harvest is carried out 100% manually and is transported in 10 kilogram boxes, under temperature control to the winery. This wine is aged for 12 months in barrels, using 70% new barrels and the remaining 30% second use.
