Aalto 2020 Magnum, a single-varietal Tempranillo wine, is produced in the Ribera del Duero Designation of Origin by the renowned AALTO winery. This exceptional wine is obtained from grapes grown in extremely old vineyards, with ages ranging between 40 and 80 years, distributed in nine different municipalities along the Ribera Burgalesa and Vallisoletana.
The AALTO project was born in February 1999, in the prestigious wine region of Ribera del Duero, Spain. Mariano García, renowned winemaker and creator of Mauro with an outstanding career in the prestigious Vega Sicilia winery, together with Javier Zaccagnini, had as a fundamental objective to produce a wine that expressed a unique personality, characterized by its high quality and that was a faithful reflection of various towns. This process involved assembling the different varieties at the end of the breeding process to achieve exceptional balance and complexity.
Grape harvesting is done manually, using small 15 kilo boxes that are carefully inspected cluster by cluster on a selection table. After the various production processes, Aalto 2020 goes through fermentation and aging that extends over 18 months in French and American oak barrels.
