Este vino presenta una nariz notablemente clara y pura. En el paladar, se destaca por su jugosidad y una estructura que varía de media a completa, dotado de una generosa cantidad de taninos que son suaves y tienen un toque sutilmente terroso. Ultreia Rapolao 2022 es un exquisito vino tinto seco, compuesto por 100% Mencía y elaborado por el renombrado enólogo Raúl Pérez en la D.O. Bierzo. Raúl, proveniente de una familia de viticultores bercianos de larga tradición, es ampliamente reconocido tanto en España como internacionalmente.

En el viñedo, las cepas muertas han sido sustituidas por Pan y Carne (una variedad local de Trousseau), que ya ha comenzado a dar frutos. Además, han acortado el período de maceración de este vino. La combinación de uvas más ligeras y un método de vinificación más suave ha equilibrado la mayor concentración típica de una añada más cálida.

Para su crianza, el Rapolao Ultreia 2022 se ha madurado únicamente en foudres previamente usados para vinos blancos, eliminando el uso de barricas tradicionales. Esto ha permitido que la madera, todavía relativamente fresca, aporte una textura y un aroma ligeramente cremosos al vino. Se han producido un total de 1,600 botellas.
