La añada excepcional del Vega Sicilia Unico 2009, proveniente de la reconocida bodega Vega Sicilia, ofrece un excepcional coupage de Tempranillo (94%) y Cabernet Sauvignon (6%). Esta obra maestra vinícola es el fruto del compromiso del grupo Tempos Vega Sicilia. Desde que fue adquirida por David Álvarez Díez en 1982, la reputación internacional de esta bodega, fundada en 1864, ha ido en constante ascenso, estableciendo estándares de calidad inigualables en el universo vinícola.

De las extensas 1.000 hectáreas de la Finca Vega Sicilia, 210 se dedican al cultivo de la viña, donde conviven 19 tipos de suelos distribuidos en 57 parcelas con características específicas. La gestión excepcional de estos suelos ha sido crucial, influenciada por el curso del río Duero y el transcurso del tiempo. Edad promedio del viñedo de 35 años y altitudes que oscilan entre 700 y 900 metros sobre el nivel del mar.

La cosecha se realiza manualmente en cajas de 12 kg. El envejecimiento del Vega Sicilia Unico 2009, con un mínimo de 10 años entre la madera y la botella, destaca como uno de los más prolongados a nivel mundial. Se utilizan barricas de 225 litros de roble francés y americano, tanto nuevas como usadas, así como tinos de madera de 22.000 litros. Este proceso extenso y complejo confiere a los vinos una sorprendente variedad de matices, precisión, textura y profundidad a medida que evolucionan.
